Power Over Principles In Modern Politics
Show Notes
“The biggest con in modern politics isn’t corruption, inflation, or foreign policy—it’s convincing people that the same politicians who created the mess are the only ones qualified to fix it.” Barack Obama’s return to the campaign trail has reignited a debate that goes far beyond one politician. For years, Americans were told to see him as the voice of reason, unity, and moral authority. Yet critics see a different legacy: expanding government power, blaming opponents for policy failures, dismissing legitimate concerns, and demanding loyalty over accountability. The conversation now stretches from domestic politics to foreign policy, freedom of speech, Israel, identity politics, and the future of the Democratic Party itself. As economic anxiety grows and voters become increasingly skeptical of political elites, one question keeps surfacing: are leaders offering real solutions, or simply recycling old talking points to protect the same institutions and power structures that got us here in the first place? If trust in government is collapsing, it may be because voters are finally looking past the speeches and judging politicians by results.

Yeah. Where's Waldo? We didn't have to put you in a moose carton, my friend.
SPEAKER_00 0:10
Uh thanks.
SPEAKER_01 0:12
Welcome back, buddy. Welcome back. It's been a while.
SPEAKER_00 0:15
It's been a while. A few stages, a few microphones, and there you go.
SPEAKER_01 0:19
There you go. If you had a chance to hear Stuart on stage, it's actually really cool. He doesn't do this stuff on stage, but it's brilliant. What do you have to provide?
BRICS And The Fight Over Currency
SPEAKER_00 0:32
You know, David, I was telling you, side note. I was on traveling around with David Wheeled, former vice chair of Nasdaq, and the author of the Jobs Act. And uh believe it or not, you know, he's more leaning Democrat, or he's definitely not pro-Don J. Trump. However, we were discussing last week's or the week before's play over the deal with Russia and how that affects. And uh believe it or not, you know, the left media frames and forgets history. Really? Oh, I never knew that. It's actually quite interesting because it was a debate over BRICS and how the left media totally forgot all about what BRICS was about. Yep. Brazil, Russia, India, China. Especially now. Especially now with the Brazilian election, yeah. So, so well, you know, the the irony is that this whole deal with Russia actually just took Nuan and knocked it back, you know, 20 years. Because the whole purpose of BRICS was to destabilize the US currency by taking the petrol dollar naturalization dollar to be niwan, not dollar. Uh, which would have done great for Iran and Iraq and North Korea and Russia, but nevertheless, you know, Donald Trump's move that the left will never give him credit for. So I had this famous guy, you know, who's uh who's a a hawk with Democrats and Republicans, totally dumbfounded and speechless with the theory that I place forward. And I haven't heard back from him, you know, again bragging rates. You know, he would have loved the bragging rights to call me back out and say how wrong I was. But you know, you know, you know, again, David, my phone isn't ringing. It's okay. I know we have my number, we talk, you know, you can call me David.
SPEAKER_01 2:35
Give him a chance, David. If you're listening, call Stuart. But Stuart, let me let's let's get back onto the fundamentals of why people are actually listening to our podcast.
What Happened To Democrats
SPEAKER_01 2:43
It's not just your your your your your theory, but it's what the hell is wrong with the Democrats. And I'll tell you something, Stuart. I don't understand it. And while you were away, I kind of ranted a little bit about it. I don't understand at all how the Democrats have turned from being a patriotic party to the party that hates America. And it's not just that, it's both Obama and Kamala Harris, both president, former president Obama and Kamala Harris, are campaigning, the Clintons too, but the Clintons are bringing a different message. Obama and Harris are bringing socialism. And we know that Kamala Harris, when she opens her mouth, that word salad is just ridiculous. It's hilarious to hear it. And I wish he would campaign more often because it would destroy the Democrats. But Obama, who's much more eloquent and more his true self, the president who you had for two terms, had so many people elevated to almost godlike status, he's showing his true colors, that he truly doesn't care for America. He cares for power, Stewart. And I think that that's nuts.
SPEAKER_00 3:59
All right, let's get a thesis
Obama’s Corruption Claims Under Fire
SPEAKER_00 4:02
going. Barack Obama has re-entered the political arena this midterm cycle as a moral authority on corruption and competence. And the same week he brainstorms Ohio and Michigan with messages, he's also drawing fire for Belfast remarks on Israel that critics say abandon decades of Jewish historical standing. The pattern is the same on both stories.
Obama's position himself as an adult in the room while the substance underneath doesn't hold up. And that, my friend, is where I go. Barack Obama wanted to lecture America about corruption and incompetence, the same way he dragged comments that a columnist sacrificed 4,000 years of Jewish history. So let's talk about who actually doesn't lecture anybody.
The attack on Trump's corruption and incompetence and the firing back. What happened? Newsmax reported President Barack Obama launched one of the most blistering attacks yet, Donald J. Trump, over the weekend, accusing his successor of unprecedented corruption, incompetence, and cruelty during a campaign appearance in Ohio and in Michigan, with Trump's responding in kind.
Let's be very specific, because to misquote this would be rather underwhelming, as usual. But let's sort these words. Obama's parachuting into midterm battlegrounds calls Trump corrupt, incompetent, is rich coming from the guy whose administration weaponized the IRS against conservative nonprofits and ran guns into Mexico Cartel's hand under fast and furious scandals that never got the existential threat to democracy, treatment from the press that every Trump controversy gets. This isn't an analysis, it's a campaign surrogate played dressed up as a moral clarity.
And David, this is exactly what I'm calling it on the air. It's not just Obama's domestic recording that doesn't hold up under scrutiny. The same week he's out playing School in Chief Corruption. He's talking about heat something that he said about Israel.
Let's hit the second part of my story.
Israel Remarks And The Retract Debate
SPEAKER_00 6:52
The Washington Examiner op-ed noted Obama received an honorary doctorate from Queen's University, where he hoped he might reconsider and retract remarks made in Belfast on October 13th. But with a non-public retraction to date, the columnist said a response is necessary. The take is that alone Harvard-educated former president knows better and still chose words enough that a major outlet called it a sacrificial 4,000 years of Jewish history. Fits a pattern of conservatives have flagged with Obama for over a decade.
Moral equivalence when it comes to Israel, dressed up in Ivy League credentialism that's supposed to make it unchallengeable. An honorary doctrine doesn't inoculate you from accountability. And the fact that he's talking and taking a bow in Belfast while refusing to clarify or retract tells the story. That falls apart on both counts.
You cannot credibly run a corruption incompetence tour on behalf of a party whose own former president has fast and furious in the IRS targeting on his resume. You cannot call comments nuanced when the mainstream outlet's op-ed page says they cost 4,000 years of Jewish history is due. That's not a right-wing hit job. That's the Washington examiner saying it the quiet part aloud.
Let's be fair. I don't have the transcript in hand on October 13th. I only have excerpts. But I want you to go and pull it.
You know, Obama wants the corruption cop, but he's got no badge. He is on the record creating Fast and Furious that still doesn't have an ending. Obama accused Trump for unprecedented corruption and incompetence and cruelty in Ohio. But it's unprecedented is the doing a work, but that's his sentence.
A major outlet owns an op-ed page saying Obama's Belfast remarks destroyed 4,000 years of Jewish history. Finally, the real impact is midterm voters in Ohio and Michigan get recycled 2008 Obama-era stump speeches that cross their kitchen tables. And every Jewish American that's getting another example of a casual moral equivalence lost 4,000 years of existence. He had a chance to retract, and there was hope that he might consider to try and bridge the gap between the far left and the left normal.
However, Obama chose to be a radical stump-raging machine with his not-so-classic wife. You know, when you spend a week touring telling Americans that Donald Trump is corrupt and incompetent, and he's a cruel one, while sitting on an uncorrected set of remarks for weeks on end is just what the cost of 4,000 years is. He doesn't give a shit. He is no better than an El Said or an AOC.
To be frank, you don't get to be the adult in the room when corruption is owned by your administration. Scandals that are still unresolved in public's memory. We're not going to forget it. And you don't get to lecture anyone on decency while refusing to clean up your own missteps.
A beer with the common Joe on the White House lawn and a cigarette isn't going to fix your problem. President Obama, pick your lane of moral authority. It isn't a costume because currently you look like a clown. David, how are you feeling about
Power Politics And Party Pressure
SPEAKER_00 11:38
this?
SPEAKER_01 11:38
Well, first and foremost, when Obama was elected, remember back in 2008, everybody said, look, first African American president, eloquent speaker, changing of the guard. It was a for many, it was a beautiful time. America finally broke the racial barrier, having a leader, doesn't matter his background and all that stuff. Everybody was just enamored by the idea that look, it's not another white old guy.
But in his eight years in power, all President Obama wanted was power. And yeah, he blamed the Republicans for everything he couldn't do. There was a shooting in South Carolina, which then former governor, South South Carolina governor Nikki Haley, begged Obama, let's do something about gun control. And of course, in typical Obama way, he blamed the Republicans for not getting anything done.
He tried to put Obamacare into play and blame the Republicans for its failure. It's the blame game. Stuart. But what Obama craved more than anything else, and he proved it as president, is power.
How much more power can the Democratic Party wield? And if you go back and you look at the signs of the things that he'd done, policies he wanted to go for, ideas he wanted to go for, that was it. It was all about wielding more power, not what was right for America. And we saw it again in the trunk in the campaigns for Trump and Biden, and then of course with Kamala Harris.
Every time they dust off Obama, what's his message? If you don't vote Democrat, you're a racist. If you don't vote for Democrats, you're just wrong. He accused black men during the dur in the 2024 elections.
He accused black men of being afraid to vote for a black woman. It was all about absolute mental games to force you to vote Democrat, but at no point is it about policy. Stuart, I find it ironic that Mr. Obama would like to talk about scandals and fraud when in his own party you have Elon Omar who is being chased down, and you know, she disappeared for the longest time because hey, Elon Omar, we don't even know what her real name is.
We don't know what her immigration status is. We also heard we also heard that if the Democrats win, they're gonna subpoena Elon Musk on what he did to Doge. Now that's interesting. Why are you gonna go back to that?
It's simple. Doge was the Democrats' way of paying for power. It was a way that they controlled elections in South America, which now fell apart. It's their way of trying to control elections around the world that didn't succeed.
Elon Musk opened the Pandora's box, and the Democrats want to close it. The Democrats are still pushing for growth for adding more people to the judicial, to the to the Supreme Court. Democrats are still talking about more and more controlling of power, and that is what Obama's pushing today. Campaigning with racists like El Saeed just shows you that he didn't care.
When we talked about this, and I brought this up numerous times over the years, that Barack Obama loved the Muslim Brotherhood when Egypt was uh what was taken over in that famous Arab Spring, it was the Muslim Brotherhood, a terrorist organization that took over and he applauded it. He high-fived it. Don't forget, this is also the same president that called ISIS a JV team, a you know, a the the group that went out and committed horrific terrorist activities. Barack Obama had no interest in America,
Israel, Iran, And Media Blind Spots

just power. And the sad part of all is what he did recently in Belfast, to your point, by going out there and claiming that the Palestinian this was Palestinian land and the Jews stole Palestinian land, and I'm paraphrasing it a little bit, was beyond the reproach. And democrats who happen to be Jewish around the US, for those of you who are still considering voting Democrat, you are nuts because the party is basically saying we're erasing your history. Stuart's point.
You have candidates who are running around in New York and in other places claiming that Israel committed genocide. All these falsehoods, all in the name of power. They want to get into power, not the right way, not with the right approach, not with the moral high ground, but by defaming and disgracing Israel so that they can get into power. Those aren't Jews to me, folks.
They're Jews by name, they're not Jews in any way, shape, or form. And anybody who votes for them, you're disgusted. Because to sit here today and say, I can never vote Republican, because simply put, if I vote Republican, I'm a bad person because all Republicans are bad is idiotic. But the Democratic Party has told you to your face that you as a Jew no longer have a place in America.
And Barack Obama has just thrown Israel one more time under the bus, one more time. It's not new. Ladies and gentlemen, Barack Obama did it in his two terms, and you denied it. You said, Oh no, Obama is Israel's best friend.
Obama was never Israel's best friend. He's been trying for years to destroy Israel. And idiots like Jonathan Greenblatt, who worked for him, who's now head of the anti-defamation league, is still apologizing for Obama. This lefty who can't get his head out of the sand, and yes, I'm calling you out, Greenblack.
I'm calling you out because the other when you made that remark that Obama's still a good guy, oh he did it. You know, don't give us excuses. Your job is to protect Jews, not your ass. The ADL.
You're no better than than the assholes that Obama brought to the White House. All these Jewish groups, as he called it, okay, Obama brought in Jewish groups. They were all hard lefties like Jonathan Greenblock, who hates Israel and said, Oh, this is Israel policy we're going to bring forward. That was his way of showing then.
So we shouldn't be surprised now. But if you're a Democrat today looking at the party and you're saying AOC, Elon Omar, Barack Obama, not only Jew haters, but America haters. How could you vote like this? The corruption is off the charts.
It's interesting how Obama wants to point it out in Trump and in his administration. But did you look inside your own? Did you look at your group? Did you do we should we bring out again that you threw billions of dollars at Iran so that they could build out a nuclear program that Trump had to go and destroy?
No, no, no. But that doesn't matter. Does it matter that during your administration the price of oil was well over $100 a barrel for much longer than all of Trump's two terms combined? But of course, the media's not going to show you that story.
All the media wants to care about is isn't Obama wonderful? Isn't he lovely? Isn't Michelle amazing? Aren't the Democrats a great party?
No. Folks, you've been you're being duped again. The Democrats are not what you think they are. Look for the wolf people under that sheep's clothing because they're gonna bite your ass.

SPEAKER_00 20:10 That's the noise you're gonna get, David.
